Before You Arrive

No backpacks or gym bags are allowed at the Army Ten-Miler (ATM). Be sure to review complete security information for the Pentagon and race course before you arrive on race day!

Getting to the ATM Start Line

Parking

No race parking is allowed at the Pentagon. However, runners and spectators may park in one of two nearby parking garages before walking to the Pentagon South Lot: 

Fashion Centre at Pentagon City (paid parking)
Opens: 5 a.m.
Entrance locations: 850 Army Navy Drive, Arlington, VA.
and 955 15th Street South, Arlington, VA.
*Located across the street from the Pentagon

Crystal City parking garage (free parking)
Opens: 6 a.m.
Entrance location: 1750 Crystal Drive, Arlington, VA.
*Located a half mile’s walk from the Pentagon

**Information is subject to change based on COVID mitigation measures. 

Rideshares and Taxis

If you travel by Lyft, Uber, or taxi, have your driver drop you off at the intersection of 12th and South Hayes Streets in Arlington, VA. (Directly in front of the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City.)

From 5:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., all lanes of Route 110 will be closed.

Exit 8A, on southbound I-395

5:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

Eastbound Wilson Boulevard, from N. Kent Street to Route 110 (Southbound traffic from Arlington Ridge Road and N. Kent Street will be permitted to travel westbound on Wilson Boulevard)

5:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

Westbound I-66, from Washington D.C. to Exit 73 (Closed by the Metropolitan Police Department and the Virginia State Police)

5:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Army Navy Drive, from S. Fern Street to 12th Street S. (Traffic from northbound S. Fern Street will be permitted to travel west on Army Navy Drive after approximately 9:00 a.m.)

5:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

S. Eads Street, between 12th Street S. and Army Navy Drive (Traffic coming from residences or hotels in the area will be permitted to travel southbound on S. Eads Street via 11th Street S.)

5:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

S. Eads Street, from Army Navy Drive into the Pentagon reservation/northbound I-395 HOV lanes

5:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Exit 10A, on northbound I-395 (Access to the George Washington Memorial Parkway will remain open)

N. Lynn Street, from the top of the ramp at westbound I-66 (Exit 73) to the Key Bridge (Northbound N. Lynn Street traffic will be diverted westbound on Langston Boulevard)

7:45 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

Fort Myer Drive, from the Key Bridge to Langston Boulevard

7:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

12th Street S., between S. Eads Street and Long Bridge Drive (Residents will be permitted to access the garages on 12th Street S.)

7:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Long Bridge Drive, between 12th Street S. and Boundary Channel Drive

8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Exit 8C, on southbound I-395

The following streets will be posted as Emergency No Parking on Sunday, October 13, 2024,

from 3:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.:

  • 14th Street from Constitution Avenue to the 14th Street Bridge
  • Independence Avenue from 14th Street to 7th Street, SW
  • 7th Street from Independence Avenue to Maryland Avenue, SW
  • C Street from 7th Street to 9th Street, SW
  • 9th Street from C Street to Independence Avenue, SW

The following street will be closed to vehicle traffic on Sunday, October 13, 2024, from approximately 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.:

  • Key Bridge, NW
  • Outbound Theodore Roosevelt Bridge

The following streets will be closed to vehicle traffic on Sunday, October 13, 2024, from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.:

  • Key Bridge from VA to M Street, NW
  • Whitehurst Freeway from Key Bridge to 27th Street, NW
  • Potomac River Freeway from 27th Street, NW to Ohio Drive, SW
  • 14th Street from Constitution Avenue to the 14th Street Bridge
  • 14th Street Bridge – HOV lanes only
  • Independence Avenue from 23rd Street to 7th Street, SW
  • 7th Street from Constitution Avenue, NW to G Street, SW
  • C Street from 7th Street to 9th Street, SW
  • 9th Street from C Street to Independence Avenue, SW

Free Event Shuttle 

Spectators can board the free event shuttle, from the Pentagon South Lot to the finish line area, Hooah Tent Zone, and the Reunion Area in the Pentagon North Lot. The shuttle runs continually between 4 a.m. and 1 p.m. Please be prepared for a 10 to minute wait during peak periods. Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome. No backpacks!

Runners should not take the free event shuttle to the North Lot. They will access their start line corrals through the Pentagon South Lot.

THE FINISH LINE ENDS AND OFFICIAL SCORING CLOSES AT 11:30 A.M.
 

Getting Around Post-Race 

Participants and spectators can walk to Garment Check, Metro, and parking garages via Route 110 as directed by volunteers and signage. Those who need additional assistance can take the free event shuttle, to the Pentagon South Lot until 1 p.m. Be prepared for a 10-to-15 minute wait during peak periods. Riders are encouraged to wear masks.
